Yea, I know about that.  That's not what I'm talking about.  I'm asking about a meter that changes with the sound level.  Something like the bottom bar in this picture.

Nevermind.  I enabled compositing and it's all working fine now.  It's transparent like I want.

This is a screenshot to help explain.  Can I make the black area around the controls, slider, and album info transparent/semi-transparent or even change colors?

Can I make a widget transparent/semi-transparent so I can see my bg image?  The widgets I'm using now all have a black bg.  Can I have another color other then black? 

When I enable compositing the widget disappears.
