Customization / Is it possible to ignore capitalization of Genre? Used to be the case in 1.0.2
January 10, 2011, 12:33:22
... but it's no lase in 1.1.6.
I have a mess of capitalizations, from my Windows time.
Thanks!

Suggestions / Re: esc behavior, general shortcut mapping, send to queue

In general, esc should close all pop-up windows, not only search. For example, the 'search album art' window should be closed too (this is -I think- general GUI gnome guidelines).
It's particularly important for people using tiling window managers, since we don't have a 'close' button.

Suggestions / sorting by track in SongTree
January 10, 2011, 12:05:50
When I click a genre using songtree, the grouping is by album but the tracks are not sorted.
I have to click on the column that contains the cover art, then click on the track column, and then back to click on the cover art column to get the (standard) sorting by track.
Maybe there's something wrong on my setup? I'd assume in songTree it makes sense to have things sorted by track...

The problem is with all my ogg files. killing and restarting pulseaudio doesn't help. Maybe I'll report a bug to my distro. I hate pulseaudio...
mpg123 has --rva-mix / --rva-album doesn't help here buecause it reads some weird non-standard rva tags, not real replaygain taks (according to the man page).
Thanks

(using arkanoid layout).
I'd be nice if SongTree rightclick could include 'search for picture on the internet'
Thanks

January 10, 2011, 11:00:03QuoteKeyBindings = c-f SetFocusOn(SimpleSearch)This seems not to work for me (1.1.6; maybe I should try the git head?). I've tried many shortcuts. c-f, c-/, / (one-key shortcuts are eaten by the small search box)
Quotectrl-q.

Also, the shortcut to send to cue should work on that window too.
it works for me, what shortcut have you tried, and with what command exactly ?
There's something interesting about 'add to queue': it doesn't add in track order. When I drag and drop to the queue window, things are sorted bt track but not when I do ctrl-q (from main window, as it doesn't work on the search window).
THanks

not the big searchbox on this layout. The tiny one on the music lister, yes.
Which keyboard shortcuts you take for it?

Suggestions / esc behavior, general shortcut mapping, send to queue

I'd love to have a quick way to search and get on with work.
When I open the search window, esc doesn't close it. Well, in quick search mode I can do tab and esc, then it works. Not so in SongTree mode: esc doesn't do anything. Even better I should be able to map ctrl+F to the big search field on my layout (arkanoid) but this seems not to be possible...

Actually, sorry to report that 1.0.2 has the same problems with these ogg files.
And switching to mplayer/mpg123 or changing to alsa doesn't help for some reason :/, or do I have to reboot GMP before the change takes place?
one CPU goes to 100%
Deadbeef and audacious play them just fine, so I don't think the files are damaged.
finally, here's an example of such a file.

Looks like the scroll problems are gone after I moved to an esata disk instead of usb.
Now, the stuttering problem persists for ogg, not for mp3 nor flac. and only gstreamer.
The other two are good, but I'd lose replaygain, which is important for me (at least no options visible).
gstreamer without replaygain works fine.
My guess is that there's something in the ogg replaygain tags that doesn't fully work. It could be 1.1.6 (beta) or my gstreamer. I'm on sabayon, kernel 2.5.36, with the 'magic patch' on :)
UPDATE
after just switching around players, I can get gstreamer with replaygain to play ok, but after a song or two it goes bad again.
If anyone knows how to get mplayer or mpg123 and friends to play with replaygain, I'm fine with that too :)
Looks like gstreamer through alsa works fine. I'll keep playing like this for a while.
Thanks

Wonderful layout.
Is there any way to map a shortcut to the main search box?
Is the one thing I'm missing. That, and a 'clear search box' shortcut... glorious :)
Of course... I could map it to the search window, but it's distracting on xmonad (it's not a floating window, it takes the entire space the player window was using).

Questions / missing cover art after moving library
January 07, 2011, 12:00:09
I moved my music to a different drive.
Now GMB is missing cover art. My guess is that the old path location is still in the library (even though I removed the old path and put the new one in place).
Any idea why? Workarounds?
THanks
