can there be a fullscreen layout like the arkanoid but showing the queue
i have a 22 inches monitor which has lots of space remaining after the image and buttons
a queue would be nice
i think it will make you 5 mins to write the code

dear, whenever you upload a new version i go to the repository, layouts file and copy the text of arkanoid portion of  file in a new file in my layouts folder. it works fine
is this the usual way or do i need to add ur repository and do something like sudo get-update. forgive my ignorance

previously what i presumed was that the weighted random selects its songs from the whole library while it actually does it from the current filter.
so it is actually easy to make a filter of genre pop OR rock and then apply weighted random to choose newer and higher rated songs
I got your point, thanks for the help.
you are a really dedicated developer. and the newer version of GMB is well worth of being the default for Ubuntu.
i would still like to have some rules added like artist name or a few more. for example if i want to listen to rock,all artists, but more songs from say, Mr x, i can make a filter for rock but still can't make a weighted random preferring 50% songs from mr X and 50% from rest of them.
although a workaround will be to apply a custom label to all songs from Mr X and use it in weighted random, but easier would be to have a rule for artist. and similarly for may be a few other fields.

You were right, what i needed was a playlist filter and then apply weighted list to it
i was doing it after clearing all the filters so any song whole library had a probability to be selected (except those weighted 0)
so if i created a filter with genre rock or pop and then applied weighted random to select "least recently played 4 star songs"
it seems to work fine.


this is the best thing about Linux that ppl are always ready to help out other. In my view GMB is the best music player for linux. and should be the default for Ubuntu. will vote for any poll on internet.

will keep bothering with problems in future

yes i needed that button
but i copied it from another layout the "itunes like" layout
not very symmetrical but useful
now i think i have got the perfect layout for my needs.
although there is one small issue, if i try to edit the star rating from the currently playing song (HB current track box), it acts clumsy. however right click and set rating works without problem.

two problems
1.
i made a few custom weighted random criterion for listening to a particular type of tracks
they are shown in the play order>weighted random menu, but selecting one of them doesn't change the auto fill pattern
even if i go to custom , select the particular criteria and press apply followed by ok, it doesn't change the queue behaviour
however, going to custom in the above menu and modifying the criteria slightly starts working

2. i made a weighted random criteria to listen to 4 star songs from pop. it works beautifully. now i added another condition to choose genre rock . both given equal weightage. what i expected was that it will play songs 4 star from either pop or rock but now it keeps listing from all sorts of genre along with the above two.i have read the FAQ but iam not sure how to achieve that

3. not the proper thread to ask but in 1.1.6 i am not able to find the menu to create new custom labels

now the only thing i miss is a button or a menu to change the queue options or to change the weighted order preferences

the link you pasted for the new code leads to a devianart page where there is an image and a  git commit.
do i create the code somehow from that?
because in ur youtube video it looks so cool but in my system actually there is no context pane at all on the right even in the full view?

can we include more options for adding songs in weighted random like length of song or so..
although i can have a workaround by creating labels for very long tracks but still would be help if it was included by default.
actually some of tracks in my library are very long like say 35 mins  and they keep popping up in auto fill queue if i chose that genre for weighted random and  i want to listen the genre minus the long tracks.
please suggest

i changed year filter pane to genres by adding tab
but i can still not put the queue from down to right side.. like it is in itunes or mediamonkey or even windows media player
can you explain how to do that
