hi ,
i downloaded puddletag and did some bulk changing to my music tags
i rescanned my library after that and it didn't reflect the changes
but playing the particular songs showed them according to the new tag while those unplayed remained like before
what am i missing?

Hi ,
once upon a time when i used windoze there was a 'not so common' media manager called Helium music manager
http://www.helium-music-manager.com/
it had one very interesting feature that it had an html kind of page which showed your play history in a very interesting way
we are already recording all the playcounts and other things ,
probably we can make a layout or something with filters showing songs most commonly played over last week , or artists which have many stars but not heard recently and many more possibilities
i am not sure if i was able to explain it properly

hi,
i changed my Distro to oneiric beta
installed gmb latest from andreas' repo
home folder is a different partition than root
and music is a different partition NTFS
left the .config and gmbrc  etc as such
but now, it is reading all the tags and playing songs nicely, but doesn't add a new folder when added
i checked add/ scan new folders on startup , but the newly added folders don't show up
i even tried to use a backup gmbrc but same problem persists
anything i did wrong?

the output for running gmusicbrowser in terminal is
GStreamer::Interfaces perl module not found -> visuals not available

hi,
i was using GMB 1.1.6 on Maverick
i did a fresh install of natty and installed GMB 1.1.7 from andreas' repository
before that i saved all tags to file from GMB settings, i did check the option "write to tag" in the rating and playcount in fields.
but on the new version, GMB doesn't have the playcount of my library nor the ratings i saved in the previous versions
did i miss something?
and what is Identifier in file tag?
by the way i still have my old home/.config/gmusicbrowser folder . will any file from that help in restoring my ratings etc?

it took me one full year searching for the best player on linux that too from a comment on a similar poll.

two problems
1.
i made a few custom weighted random criterion for listening to a particular type of tracks
they are shown in the play order>weighted random menu, but selecting one of them doesn't change the auto fill pattern
even if i go to custom , select the particular criteria and press apply followed by ok, it doesn't change the queue behaviour
however, going to custom in the above menu and modifying the criteria slightly starts working

2. i made a weighted random criteria to listen to 4 star songs from pop. it works beautifully. now i added another condition to choose genre rock . both given equal weightage. what i expected was that it will play songs 4 star from either pop or rock but now it keeps listing from all sorts of genre along with the above two.i have read the FAQ but iam not sure how to achieve that

3. not the proper thread to ask but in 1.1.6 i am not able to find the menu to create new custom labels

can we include more options for adding songs in weighted random like length of song or so..
although i can have a workaround by creating labels for very long tracks but still would be help if it was included by default.
actually some of tracks in my library are very long like say 35 mins  and they keep popping up in auto fill queue if i chose that genre for weighted random and  i want to listen the genre minus the long tracks.
please suggest
