Customization / Is it possible to ignore capitalization of Genre? Used to be the case in 1.0.2
January 10, 2011, 12:33:22
... but it's no lase in 1.1.6.
I have a mess of capitalizations, from my Windows time.
Thanks!

Suggestions / sorting by track in SongTree
January 10, 2011, 12:05:50
When I click a genre using songtree, the grouping is by album but the tracks are not sorted.
I have to click on the column that contains the cover art, then click on the track column, and then back to click on the cover art column to get the (standard) sorting by track.
Maybe there's something wrong on my setup? I'd assume in songTree it makes sense to have things sorted by track...

Suggestions / SongTree rightclick: search for picture on the internet
January 10, 2011, 11:01:29
(using arkanoid layout).
I'd be nice if SongTree rightclick could include 'search for picture on the internet'
Thanks

Suggestions / esc behavior, general shortcut mapping, send to queue
January 08, 2011, 13:22:46
I'd love to have a quick way to search and get on with work.
When I open the search window, esc doesn't close it. Well, in quick search mode I can do tab and esc, then it works. Not so in SongTree mode: esc doesn't do anything. Even better I should be able to map ctrl+F to the big search field on my layout (arkanoid) but this seems not to be possible...
Also, the shortcut to send to cue should work on that window too.
Thanks

Questions / missing cover art after moving library
January 07, 2011, 12:00:09
I moved my music to a different drive.
Now GMB is missing cover art. My guess is that the old path location is still in the library (even though I removed the old path and put the new one in place).
Any idea why? Workarounds?
THanks

Questions / testing 1.1.6
January 06, 2011, 22:03:55
First, congrats. GMB is the winner in my recent tour de force on linux players. Very powerful!
The tagger is the best I've seen, beats even foobar.
Now, things that don't work in 1.1.6:
- flac doesn't play, whereas in 1.0.2 it works fine
- populating the library is slower than other tools, and it slows down all other operations. I guess that's perl's multithread support (or lack of)
- any long playlist with album image doesn't scroll fluently at all (same as in 1.0.2). I know this is technically difficult. Is there a cache somewhere? I cannot find it inside .config... The most efficient implementation of albumart on the playlist is deadbeef's, you could take a look and see why their scroll is perfectly smooth.
- audio stutters; but this may be my current settings. Is there a buffer anywhere?
- replaygain calculation, while improved on 1.1.6, still fails more often than not.
Sorry to sound negative, I'm actually quite excited I found this player...!
