Who is responsible for it?

Somehow everyone is responsible (that's the principle of open source ;) ) and somehow I am (since I did most of it ::))

So, suggestions always welcome! Just contact me!

Suggestions / Re: Features List
July 04, 2011, 22:34:39
Nice! I can participate with some considerations...

a few problems:
* similar_songs returns quite a few songs, but it's still not likely you'd get a complete playlist out of that
* how should we treat lastfm's similarity factor? (it's anything but coherent)
* keep the "master song" (the one all others should be similar to) or skip it after a while? if yes, what shall it use instead?

What about keeping it, until all songs similar to the "master song" have been played, and then take the last song as the "new master song"? Would somehow also solve problem 1, without to big differences from one song to another (if problem 2 is not to serious ;)/ probably the option to choose the minimum similarity rating is useful)...

btw, squentin proposed making the similar-stuff a queue-mode, any thoughts on that?

Sounds reasonable! I imagine wishing to hear more music like-the-one-I'm-listening-to-right-now! With autofill once|x songs|unlimited I guess it would fit most needs...

No skip when:
* In the first n seconds, in the last n seconds.
* Pause and Skip
* Exit the program
Sounds like a reasonable way to handle it...

Hmmm, I think I just leave them both untranslated... (Übersteuern is not really fitting :()

So, I attached the de.po.

Thanks for Your help!

Don't worry! I'm already amazed on how You do all the programming alone and still try to integrate all the wishes...

Big Thanks!

O.K. one last thing and it's done :D (until the next time ;))

Line 200: Custom
... and yes: Hard limiter is also untranslated, but I guess there is not reaaly a way to translate it, is there? I already had a hard time finding out what it is used for (it limits the maximum gain ???)

Anyway, have a nice evening!

Suggestions / Change rating according to popularity
February 21, 2010, 20:13:43
Hi Quentin, just had the idea in mind for quite a while, but I think an adjustment of the rating like ex.
every time a song is heard: +1
every time it's skipped -1

Cause I think most of us don't spent the time to manually rate a couple of thousand songs, do we?

Hi Quentin! Tried to translate it now...

Now I found some other things missing:

Where is the:
"In this case one command by file will be run"  and the "Or You can use..." from the Export-plugin?

The "Unknown field" from "NowPlaying"?

...and the "Titlebar"Plugin only tells me:
Can't locate Gnome2/Wnck.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/bin/../share/gmusicbrowser /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.10.0 /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.10 /usr/share/perl/5.10 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/../share/gmusicbrowser/plugins/titlebar.pm line 17.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/../share/gmusicbrowser/plugins/titlebar.pm line 17.

when trying to start it ??? Google tells me nothing!

Furthermore still missing:
225 Display stop/next actions #where?
340 Insensitive title-artist (left-aligned)
What's the difference between "Lock mon artist" and "Lock Artist"?
What's the difference between "Track" and "Song"?
1045 skip count average# it counts the number a song is skipped, right? Where?

Then I found quite some translations that I could improve (since I got more into it by now  ;))

I'm about to update the german translations of gmusicbrowser (1.1.4) so anyone using this version (and understanding the german language) is very welcome to try the attached translation and make suggestions for untranslated terms or better solutions for already translated words ;)

To use the attached file:put gmusicbrowser.mo either in /usr/share/locale/$LANGUAGE/LC_MESSAGES for installed version
or in locale/$LANGUAGE/LC_MESSAGES/ for non-installed version

@Quentin:
There's a couple of thinks I can't find in the program, which are not clear to me without context:
125: Auto-increment track numbers
144: Can't create sink '{sink}' #what's the sink??
562: Reference point : #where is it?
815: argument {n} :
891: half-life
998: only show entries with at least n songs #maybe a '%' missing in front of n? Can't find it..
1076: use standard strftime variables
1095 & 1096 x/y offset

So that's it for the moment!

Right, with 1.1.4 Cover search works again :)

Do You think it's possible to fix the freecovers problem?

Hi Quentin,

i just experienced the same stories recently: I hardly ever find a cover and only Slothradio seems to work  :(

When using Freecovers i get the following terminal output:
fetchcover : loading http://www.freecovers.net/api/search/%22wildhoney%22%20%22Tiamat%22
simple_http : fetching http://www.freecovers.net/api/search/%22wildhoney%22%20%22Tiamat%22

Error fetching http://www.freecovers.net/api/search/%22wildhoney%22%20%22Tiamat%22 : HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

Seems like something with the URL and/or the Api changed...

Using google the output is as follows (with -debug option, otherwise none):
fetchcover : loading http://images.google.com/images?q=%22wildhoney%22%20%22Tiamat%22&imgsz=medium|large
simple_http : fetching http://images.google.com/images?q=%22wildhoney%22%20%22Tiamat%22&imgsz=medium|large
