Hi there,
I have a fairly large music collection, so I installed GMB 1.1.9 on my Ubuntu 12.04.
My problem is that when searching, it freezes. Not that it just takes time to find, it really freezes. For exemple, I just type "lhasa", well I have just "lh" on screen, it hags for a few seconds (8 to 10), then the rest appears ,then it hangs again, then the result list appears.
I tried desactivating all plugins, no luck.
Any idea what I could do?
Thanks in advance!

It's the auto-filter feature, it can be annoying for very large collections, of course it depends a lot on cpu speed and search parameters (searching less fields by default helps)
You can disable it in the search option menu that you get when you click on the left icon in the search entry.
Actually I answered a similar question a few days ago in the french forum, there are a few more details : http://forum.gmusicbrowser.org/index.php?topic=713.0
I'll think about improving the auto-filter option.

Thanks a lot! Indeed it was the autosearch, it is now disabled :-)
Thanks for your amazing work as well.

It made me want to try something, and good news, the search bar will soon be responsive even with the autosearch :)

In the current git version, the search bar should be very responsive :)
