Questions / Re: Layouts directory
December 28, 2010, 00:40:51
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but now everything seems to be working perfectly. It took a few restarts, so I am assuming I may have been running gmusicbrowser again before the previous instance had time to completely shut down, or perhaps there was some residual issues from my repo install of the earlier gmusicbrowser release and my current install, which is from the RPM on this site.

Either way, it works, and I completely wasted your time from implementing the billions of features people have requested ;)

Questions / Layouts directory
December 27, 2010, 23:41:44
I was trying to add a layout, but I have no layout directory in /usr/share/gmusicbrowser nor ~/.config/gmusicbrowser . I created the folder 'layouts' in ~/.config/gmusicbrowser/ , placed a number of .layout files in there, and restarted gmusicbrowser. No results.

I am using gmusicbrowser 1.1.6

I looked at the Wiki and searched the forums to no avail, but feel I am missing something since so many people are having success. A point in the general direction would be awesome. Thanks.

Just as a side note, I notice that you are the respondent to most peoples inquiries. Are you working on this project solo?

Suggestions / Amazon MP3 Store Support
December 26, 2010, 20:45:07
Hey folks. Amazon.com has an online MP3 store that requires a client to purchase albums. I currently use a Linux distribution that is not supported by their client (and run into dependency hell if trying to force it). Although there is no client specific to my distro, Banshee has built in support that works just fine. I'm not sure if the Amazon support can be lifted from the Banshee project, but it would be really nice to see it in gmusicbrowser , whether out of the box or as a plug-in.

Thanks a ton for a wonderful client that doesn't choke on large collections, and thanks for taking the time to read my suggestion.
