Title: Symbolic link help
Post by: neilscott on June 04, 2015, 08:01:01
I am in the process of migrating from PCLinuxOS to openSUSE Tumbleweed.

to simplify this and any future OS change I have set up a link to my music directory, opened gmbrd, used find replace in kwrite to replace all folder references with the new link and changed the folder in settings.

The result is that every track is duplicated. How can I get gmb to remove the tracks with the original path and retain those with the linked path?

To fix it I would have to know more details on what you did exactly, simply replacing strings will not double the songs, did they appear after a scan ? Maybe you added a slash (replaced /path/to by /path/to2/), check the difference between 2 doubled song in the gmbrc file.

btw, I will soon commit a change that should make it easier, simply rescanning should mostly work then (except songs with no title and artist, and album's pictures that are not in the same folder as the songs)

Sorry to waste your time. Tried again and no duplicates. I think I must have left the "settings" folder last time causing a scan and doubling up the tracks.
