My entire collection is flac files.
Now that I've figured out how to use the normally de-activated COMPOSER and CONDUCTOR tags, gmusicbrowser is working great for me.
Is there any chance you could implement the ENSEMBLE tag in a similar way? Implement an option to activate it by those who need it? I can see the ensemble tags in the advanced properties for each individual song, but there isn't any way to enable them globally in the settings-->fields box.
For classical music (about half my collection) the ENSEMBLE tag is very useful. For instance you could quickly locate all the recordings of the Julliard String Quartet in a big collection, regardless of what album they are from.
Also some of my files are tagged with LOCATION. This can be useful for live concerts, etc. It would be great if gmb could at least show this information as a tool tip somehow.
BTW, I followed this guide in tagging my collection. Seems like sensible recommendations.

The "experimental" gapless playback works flawlessly on my setup. Sweet!
