gmusicbrowser -debug says

"Reading plugin /usr/bin/../share/gmusicbrowser/plugins/albumrandom.pm
No plugin found in /usr/bin/../share/gmusicbrowser/plugins/albumrandom.pm, maybe it uses an old format"

hi
i tried but can' t install the plugin
copied both the files where it said, but they don't show up in the list of plugins
of course my version is 1.1.7, latest from the repository
one more thing , i dont know how to add item to a layout
i also tried the other plugin to get the playcount from lastfm
but even that doesn't show in the plugins list
i copied them to both usr/share/gmusicbrowser/plugins
as well as home/.config/gmusicbrowser/plugins
pls suggest

please add the selector icon for search options in the simple search bar to choose the search fields

got this from layout documentation

"SimpleSearch simple search entry, search title/album/artist (set filter#1), the selector icon can be disabled with the option noselector=1"
i tried to do noselector = 0 but dint work

  how do we define the default behaviour on double clicking a song? in Arkanoid, the song plays right away but in vast one's layout it  enqueues...

 
activate=queueinsert  is what I use to queue as next on a double click

activate=queue would put it at the end

activate=play starts the track playing

Compare layout files and you will see these differences and can find what you want or like

this is a  reply vastone sent me to change the default behaviour on double clicking a song

but when i analysed my cardiacanesthesia layout file, i could not found a mention of activate..
how can i edit the default behavior on double click in our layout?
secondly
one basic question
how to edit the font and font size of display in a layout? i want to decrease it to get more results without scroll.

but Why not  try the Mirage Plugin from Banashee?
by selecting songs with similar audio properties?

can someone write a plugin similar to Mirage in Banshee?

thats my default now
for the enqueue actions , presently i make a shortcut from the shortcut keys in settings "enqueue selected song"
but that adds the song to the end of queue . but whatif i need to play the song right after current one? remember banshee also added such a feature in right click menu in their current version
with the flexibility of GMB i am sure this feature can be enabled but i didn't find that option in settings
may be creating a button or shortcut for the same would be helpful
but you did solve my layout problem

probably what i need is in the classic itunes like layout but with the queue on the right side rather than below and secondly the buttons for adding song to end of queue or just after next one

posting after a long time
updated to natty, installed GMB from andreas launchpad repo
using Arkanoid 2 layout

1. add two buttons in menubar to add the selected song to either end of queue or just after current playing song
2. in mediamonkey , the vertical tablists contain genre artist and album and the pane below shows the filtered song
when i select say, POP, the right sided panes show only the artist featuring in POP and the rightmost shows only albums in pop
now when i select an artist in second tab, the rightmost tab only shows albums from that artist in POP.
all this time the large pane below the tabs keeps updating the relevant songs
all these features are available in GMB but in different layouts. can this be achieved in a single layout, preferably Arkanoid 2
i hope i am able to explain my queries

zeitgeist data provider plugin will be a good idea to launch the recent or most commonly heard songs directly from the dash of unity or even with synapse in Maverick

restoring the old gmbrc restored not only the ratings but the playlists and filters also
although i always had a backup plan when i migrated from windoz-mediamonkey last yr that i selected all songs with a certain rating and wrote the number in comments field. so all i had to do was search for the number in gmb and rate all of the results accordingly.

one more thing off the topic, is somebody working on a zeitgeist data provider kind of thing for GMB?

hi,
i was using GMB 1.1.6 on Maverick
i did a fresh install of natty and installed GMB 1.1.7 from andreas' repository
before that i saved all tags to file from GMB settings, i did check the option "write to tag" in the rating and playcount in fields.
but on the new version, GMB doesn't have the playcount of my library nor the ratings i saved in the previous versions
did i miss something?
and what is Identifier in file tag?
by the way i still have my old home/.config/gmusicbrowser folder . will any file from that help in restoring my ratings etc?
