Hi
Being unfamiliar with linux I'm not sure if Ver 1.1.13 will work with my OS.
Ver 1.1.12 is in the software manager but I am ok to install 1.1.13?

I'm sorry for the probably dumb question but I'm not sure how to figure it out.

yes it will work fine. gmb doesn't have a lot of dependencies, installing the packaged version of gmb is an easy way to make sure the dependencies are installed, but you can just install them separately if they are not already there.
